About

My portfolio is one of the most varied you will find for a Decorative Artist anywhere in the country. With commissions from home owners, businesses, architects and interior designers I have been transforming traditional and contemporary interiors using an array of Specialist Artistic Paint Finishes, Paint Effects,  Murals and Decorative Polished Plasters for over 25 years.

My clients are as eclectic as my work. From one day to the next I could be restoring a 19th century mural, silver leafing furniture, signwriting, creating a feature wall with polished plaster or painting a trompe l’oeil mural in a swimming pool. I am as comfortable building up layers of paint with a brush as applying paint effects with a trowel.

Based in East London, I have a fine art background and originally went from exhibiting contemporary art to painting architectural murals on hoardings for property developers. I am often approached by people who want something special. Whether a special item of furniture, wall finish or mural, one special room, or an entire scheme for their house or business.

I have a dedicated and friendly team of artists to call on, and together we take pride in delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship on projects throughout the UK and abroad.

Client Testimonials

“John paints as an artist & decorates with care. He can skilfully pull schemes together with a well-developed eye for colour & a sensitivity for clients’ tastes.”

Jackie Copping, textile artist

“As commercial designers in the hospitality industry our work varies in the extreme, John’s ability to grasp and translate our designs has proved invaluable on many occasions both in time and cost. John is an exceptionally talented artist who understands the need to be commercial.”
